Walk the Wight - 16th May 2010

Get fit and get walking for charity. Join one of the popular 'Walk the Wight', a long distance sponsored walk for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice which takes place during the UK's largest Walking Festival.
In 2008 over 8,400 people walked one of the three Walks and raised over £350,000 towards the cost of caring for patients at the Isle of Wight Hospice!

This year a record number, between 9,000 and 9,500 people, supported by another 1500 friends and family, walked for the Hospice despite attrocious weather conditions and raised an amazing £387,000.

Walkers can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery on the Island and have the choice of three distances. Bembridge to Needles Park (approx 26.5 miles), Bembridge to Carisbrooke (approx 12.5 miles) and Carisbrooke to Needles Park (approx 14 miles).

All money raised goes into the Earl Mountbatten Hospice £1 million Appeal towards financing the redevelopment of the Island's only hospice.
The walk is organised by the Hospice, supported by a small committee and walkers are, therefore, asked to obtain sponsorship or make a donation.
Advance registration is free but compulsory. Registration is now open online or by calling 01983 528989. Website: www.walkthewight.org.uk
